晚清女传教士在华差传与中国女性启蒙——以福建为中心的考察

Women Missionaries of the Late Qing Dynasty in China and Chinese Feminism Enlightenment——Taking Fujian as the Center of Study

鸦片战争之后,西方来华传教迅猛发展。其中来华女传教士在西方女权思潮与列强"门户开放"的影响下,积极来华从事传教事业。虽然由于教会狭隘的传教驱动及西方沙文主义作祟,晚清女传教士在华差传影响的范围、广度与深度均有局限,但通过其戒缠足、兴女学等一系列活动,影响并启蒙了中国女性主义的发展。

The missionary activities in China developed significantly ever since the Opium Wars. More women missionaries than ever came to China for their missionary career under the influence of western feminism and the policy of ＂Open Door＂ of the colonies. Although the women missionaries＇ endeavors and impacts in China were relatively limited due to the religious motives and Western Chauvinism,their efforts in such aspects as forbidding foot - binding, promoting female education, etc. , to certain extent, do arouse the female consciousness of the late Qing Dynasty, and enlighten the development of Chinese feminism.
