20世纪20年代是美国历史上"咆哮的二十年代",美国经济呈现一片繁荣景象,美国急需扩大中国的市场,从而促进了美国中国学在这一时期实现了跨越式的发展,不仅建立了重视美国中国学研究的太平洋学会、布鲁金斯研究所等研究机构,而且使美国中国学研究逐步走上了一条专业化的学术道路。

The 1920s is called ＂the Roaring Twenties＂ in American history. The American economy shows a boom in the times. Therefore United States extremely needs to expand the Chinese market. China Studies were promoted the great-leap-forward development during this period. United States not only establishes the research institutions which pay attention to China Studies, such as the Pacific Association, Brookings Institution, but also makes China Studies gradually embark on a professional and academic road.
