新课改背景下地方本科院校大学英语教学存在的问题与对策——以榆林学院为例

Problems Existing in Local Universities' College English Teaching Reform and the Countermeasures——Taking Yulin University for an Example

大学英语是大学课程体系的重要组成部分,也是大学生必修的一门基础课程。当前,在新课改的推动下,我国大学英语教学已经取得了长足的进步,但多数地方本科院校由于本科办学时间短、生源相对差等原因,大学英语教学依然存在诸多问题。以榆林学院为标本,考察和分析地方本科院校大学英语教学中存在的普遍问题,并为地方本科院校大学英语教学改革提供对策与思路。

College English is one of the important components of the curricula offered to college students as well as one of the basic courses they are required to take. Currently, although a remarkable progress has been made in college English teaching reforms across China, many problems still remain unsolved in local universities due to the fact that these universities have been entitled to offer bachelor degree programs just in recent years, and that a large portion of students in these universities are rather weak in English. Taking Yulin University for an example, this paper intends to analyze the problems prevailing among local universities＇ college English teaching. Suggestions are made as to how the situation can be improved.
