摘要
散文英译起步很早,是中外学者研究的热点之一。但由于英汉两种语言之间的差异性和不同民族间思维方式的不同,现代散文的英译和研究还不成熟,仍需做更多的探索。冰心是中国当代不可多得的散文作家,《笑》是她的经典作品之一。张培基对它的翻译也得到了业界的高度肯定,成为英译文中的典范。以它为例,从英汉语篇对比的角度分析显示英汉散文在形合意合,话题凸显、主语凸显和重复、均衡、比喻这三种修辞审美角度的区别。针对这些区别,英译时可采取省略与增补,重复与替换,转化与重构,结构与意义的重现等翻译技巧和策略。
Chinese prose is an important literary genre and it is also one of the hot research topics for both Chinese and foreign scholars. Bing Xin＇s prose Smile, one of her classic works, also wins a high reputation in readers. Zhang Peiji＇s translation of it is a great success so that it becomes an excellent model in the translation. The results of the two texts＇ discourse comparative analysis show that the differences between Chinese and English prose lie in Hypotaxis or Parataxis. Some translation skills and strategies can be used to deal with these differences in the process of translation. They include ellipsis and supplement, duplication and substitution, transformation and reconstruction, the reappearance of the structure and meaning and so on.
