Long noncoding RNAs ( lncRNAs ) are the vast majority of noncoding RNAs in mammalian genome. Long noncoding RNAs are involved in gene expression via chromatin remodeling, transcriptional and post transcriptional regulation. Recently, aggregated studies indicate that plenty of lncRNAs in bone and joint disease are differently expressed and deeply involved in many pathological changes. In this review, we focus on the molecular mechanisms of lncRNAs and the role of lncRNAs in the pathogenesis of bone and & joint disease.
