摘要
专门用途英语(ESP)在语料库语言学的研究框架下取得了长足发展。作为财经英语的一种特殊语域,财经英语新闻(BEN)涉及的领域广泛,包括政经、产经商业、财税金融、战略管理和投资理财五大门类,具有"宽口径、重基础"的特点。因此,财经英语新闻学习基本上可以满足来自不同专业的商科学生的外语需求,可有效帮助他们实现从一般用途英语向专门用途英语的过渡,为其进入更专门、更精深的学习阶段夯实语言基础。本文从语料规模、语料采集、语料赋码方案等方面探讨了BEN语料库的初步建库理念。通过尝试性的建库试验探索了BEN语料库在专业英语词汇教学方面的应用。
Throughout the history of English for Specific Purposes discipline, numerous studies have been carried out within the framework of Corpus Linguistics as a result of the symbiotic relationship they come to establish. The aim of this paper is first to present some theoretical guidelines on the design and compilation of a Corpus of Business English News （BEN） in compliance with Corpus Linguistics standards. It elaborates the design principles including the size, collection,annotation of BEN. The paper also gives a comprehensive description of vocabulary educational applications of BEN.
