This article introduced the advantages of rigid polyurethane foams as building materials in heatinsulation and energy conservation, water and steam proof. Rigid polyurethane foams can be used as buildingmaterials in different parts of construction including walls, roof, doors and windows, etc. Based on thecomparison with traditional construction materials, it is pointed out that the rigid polyurethane foams havefeatures of low thermal conductivity, high thermal resistance and low bearing load, so they have broadprospects in terms of building energy efficiency. At the same time, the construction process and the mattersneeding attention for rigid polyurethane foams were also summarized.
