译入语文化语境对林徽因译作《夜莺与玫瑰》的影响

Influences of Target Language Cultural Context on Lin Huiyin' s Translation of the Nightingale and the Rose

林徽因译作《夜莺与玫瑰》是民国时期翻译作品的优秀代表。以林徽因译作《夜莺与玫瑰》为例,从译入语文化语境的社会文化传统、社会历史背景及审美价值观这三个方面分析译作所受到的影响。译作受中国文化传统的影响,在语言上体现了民国时期白话文与文言文转型期特有的文言遗韵。同时受当时历史背景的影响,林徽因为使译作更好地被接受,使用了恰当的翻译策略,使得其译作《夜莺与玫瑰》体现了唯美主义的审美价值观,至今仍受读者喜爱。

Lin Huiyin＇s translation of the Nightingale and the Rose is an outstanding representative of transla-tion works in the period of Republic of China. Taking Lin Huiyin＇s translation of the Nightingale and the Rose asan example,the paper analyzed the influences of the target language cultural context on translation from three as-pects： social and cultural traditions,historical background and aesthetic values. Influenced by social and culturaltraditions,Lin＇s translation showed the special features of classical Chinese during the period of Republic of Chi-na. Meanwhile,influenced by the then historical background,proper translation strategies were employed tomake the translation more acceptable.
