Recognition of the development from the natural drugs to the complex drugs and the varieties of medicines matched with seven relations in TCM

中药方剂由中药组成,方剂不是药堆,方剂比中药"多"出来的是百药的七情契合人之禀性、形成大于部分之和的整体功效;百药七情和百人各自不同禀性顺的是人的七情这是中医特有的"合群用药"方式,迄今在世界上只有中医使用。我们不断地重新再认识它的优势显著特征有三:首先,中药本身的资质包涵了可做实证科学研究的可能,从远古经验式的神农尝百草到今天技术化的如现代分离方法提纯、技术定性、定量、活性筛选等;其次,有机论从远古的自然哲学的整体论到20世纪的系统论这也是中医药最具优势的发展特点;再次,不失人情论,中医药的靶向目标是人的个体属性,而不是机体的细菌群,尤其是中药复方的"药无和方有和"的合群用药方式;所以,"中医调百药和合七情用之"是自然药物向复杂开发研究中的关键门径。

Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) prescriptions were composed of Chinese medicines instead of the heap of medicines. The differences between the prescriptions and the Chinese medicines were the 7 relations of the varieties of Chinese medicines, which were matched with the human nature. Meanwhile, the whole efficiency was greater than the sum of the parts. The 7 relations of the varieties of Chinese medicines and the different nature of different people were matched with the 7 emotions of people, which was a special method of TCM called ‘using different kinds of medicine matched with different groups of people'. So far in the world, it was only used in TCM. Its advantages were recognized and summarized as 3 significant characteristics: Firstly, the quality of the drug itself contained the possibility of doing empirical research from the ancient experience of the taste like SHEN Nong to modern technology such as purification of separation methods, technology, qualitative, quantitative, activity screening, and so on. Secondly, it was also the most advantage of TCM from the theory of ancient natural philosophy to the systematic theory in the 20 th Century. Thirdly, it did not lose the theory of human nature and the target of TCM was the individual attributes rather than the bacterial flora. In particular, the method of Chinese medicine compound was known as ‘the prescriptions were harmonizing but the medicines were not'. Therefore, ‘the varieties of medicines matched with seven relations in TCM' was the key way to study the development research from nature drugs to complex drugs.
