余无言运用下法治疗疑难重病的经验总结

Treatment of difficult and complicated diseases by purgative therapy:A summary of YU Wu-yan's experience

苏北名医余无言擅治疑难重病和伤寒、温病,尤其擅长使用下法,首重大黄,文章通过病例的整理分析,分别从其用下法治疗的疑难病病种,下法治疗疾病症状,下法所用常用方剂和加减,下法的用药及用量,下法的时机选择几方面,总结了余无言在运用下法治疗重病,疑难病的经验。目前,中医临床主要治疗慢性病,治疗重病急症的机会相对较少,下法的应用和研究亦较少。文章通过对余无言下法的经验进行整理与研究,希望能为疑难重病下法的应用提供思路及借鉴。

YU Wu-yan is a well-known doctor of traditional Chinese medicine in the north of Jiangsu province in the late Qing dynasty.He is proficient at treating difficult and complicated diseases,cold damage(Shanghan) and warm disease(Wenbing),especially using Rheum officinale(Dahuang) by purgative therapy.In this article,by reviewing and analyzing cases,YU Wu-yan's experience in treating difficult and complicated diseases using purgative method was summarized,from the aspects of disease category,disease symptoms,commonly used prescriptions and the add-subtract,the medication and dosage,and the timing selection.At present,traditional Chinese medicine is mainly used to treat chronic diseases in clinic.Its use in treating serious and acute diseases is less and less,and the application and research of purgative method is rare,too.Therefore,YU Wuyan's experience in using purgative method was summarized and studied in this article,hoping for providing ideas and references for the application of purgative method in treating difficult and complicated diseases.
