CHEN Shi-gong is a specialist in surgery in the Ming dynasty,and he is also a master of flexible acupuncture therapy.The deep research on the meridian theory of surgical diseases and the introduction of acupuncture method are the absorption and application of the acupuncture achievements in the field of surgery before the Ming dynasty.And in the meantime,he is also good at exploring and trying the results of new therapies.In the meridian pathogenesis,meridian differentiation,acupuncture treatment and acupuncture care,he has unique insights,especially in acupuncture therapy.In his book Surgical Authentic,there is a brilliant exposition discussing the principles of acupuncture treatment,indications,contraindications,common needle and acupuncture timing,depth,methods and other needle therapy technology detailly.It has indelible feats to promote the development of Chinese acupuncture and moxibustion.
