Summary on purulent moxibustion and post-moxibustion treatment

化脓灸是传统灸法的一种直接灸,因其灸后会在施灸处留下永久性的疤痕,故又称瘢痕灸。取穴精准、必要灸透、灸后化脓要透是化脓灸的3个关键要素。文章将紧紧围绕着这三大要素,结合笔者多年的临证施灸经验及亲身体验,从化脓灸的取穴、施灸的时机、灸量的把握、灸后的治疗及饮食起居方面的调护展开详述。

Purulent moxibustion is a kind of traditional direct moxibustion method.It is called as scarring moxibustion for that the skin of the moxibustion area will have permanent scarsat the moxibustion site.The three key elements of purulent moxibustion are accurate acupoint selection,moxibustion must be thoroughly moxibusted and purulent after moxibustion.This article would focus on these three elements,combining with the author’s many years of clinical experiences and personal experience of moxibustion to discuss,from the point selection of purulent moxibustion,the timing of moxibustion,the grasp of the amount of moxibustion,the treatment after moxibustion and the care of diet and living.
