Progress on the Studies of Extraction and Pharmacological Activities of Bioactive Compounds from Ganoderma lucidum

The extraction method and pharmacological functions of main effective compounds from Ganoderma lucidum were reviewed. G. lucidum contains abundant biological active substances, such as Gannderma triterpenoids, Ganoderma lucidum polysaccharide, protein, alkaloid and so on. These bioactive compounds have a wide range of biological activities and medicinal value including anti-tumor, anti-aging, lowering blood sugar and blood fat, improving immunity. These studies provide a theoretical basis for the development and utilization of G. lucidum as health care products and drugs.
