《鞠部丛谈》系近代名士罗瘿公应张豂子之邀,创作于1919年夏,以樊增祥眉批、李释龛校正的《〈鞠部丛谈〉校补》为善本。该书记述了晚清民国时期众多著名演员的生平事迹、亲缘师承、艺术特点,具有重要文献价值;也蕴藏着罗瘿公在演员评价、培养等方面的丰富经验与先进理念,可从本书探寻程砚秋的成长经验。

In the summer of 1919,at the invitation of Zhang Liao- zi,Luo Ying- gong wrote Ju Bu Cong Tan. The book detailed the life and achievements of numerous actors in the late Qing and early Republic of China period,their training masters and artistic characteristics. It is of great documentation value. It also contains Luo's appraisal of actors,his rich experience and advanced ideas on actor training. Cheng Yan- qiu's success can also be traced in the book.
