目的论语境下的《论语》英译本对比解析

On the Comparative Study of Three English Translations of The Analects of Confucius

《论语》是中国儒家学说的重要代表作之一。近一百多年来中外诸多学者翻译家都以不同目的,从不同的角度,用不同策略去翻译这部代表中国文化的作品。文章用目的论分析了《论语》三个重要的译本各自译者的身份、经历以及翻译目的对其翻译策略、风格的影响,并指出典籍翻译在不同时期应有不同的译作,以满足不同时期受众的需要。

As the repretative masterpiece of Confucianism and one of the basis of Chinese culture,The Analects of Confucius has been translated into English by different scholars and translators with different aims and different translation stratgies. This paper aims to adopt the skopos theory to analyze three English translations of The Analects of Confucius by looking into their different identity,experience and aims of translation,and concludes that retranslation of the classics should be done at different times to satisfy the needs of different audience。
