Professional English in chemistry and chemical engineering, as a compulsory course for the undergraduate students majoring in chemical engineering and technology, is the effective way for improving the ability to practical application of general English combined with the professional features of chemical engineering and technology. In view of the problems existing in professional English teaching, the paper discussed about the teaching reform, including how to stimulate the students＇ enthusiasm on professional English learning, formulation and implementation of the hierarchical teaching plans according to our practice and experience, etc.
