接受美学视域下的《娇娜》英译研究

A study of Jiaonuo's English versions from the perspective of reception aesthetics

《娇娜》是《聊斋志异》中的名篇。在接受美学视域下从词汇、句法、语篇三个层面对比其两个英译本,发现以目的语为母语的译者在语言灵活性和地道性上有很大优势;以源语为母语的译者在文化内涵的把握和文化保留上占据优势。在此基础上探讨对应的中国志怪小说的翻译策略,为接受美学视角下的翻译活动提供实践支持。

Jiaonuo is a famous story of Liao Zhai Zhi Yi.Reception aesthetics,centering on readers＇ reception,provides new angles and sheds light for translation studies.Under the guidance of reception aesthetics,the present study compares Jiaono＇s two English versions from lexical,syntactical and discoursal dimensions.Findings indicate that translators of target-language outperform their counterparts of source-language in terms of the flexibility and idiomaticity of language.However,the latter excel in the perception of cultural connotation and cultural reservation.Further on,it is supportive for the translation from the perspective of reception aesthetics to probe into the corresponding translation strategies for Chinese ＂Zhiguai＂stories.
