Invisible Man, written by Ralph Ellison, a black American writer, reveals the existence and val- ue of black people in the United States. In the novel, there is not only a series of direct description of the appear- ance and physical activity, but also a large number of closely related phenomena, such as violence, disability, death, etc.. Very few people discuss about these physical phenomenon. According to Michel Foucault＇ s Physi- cal Theory, these painful bodies, broken bodies and dead bodies reveal the secret that the power in political, economic and culture carefully and neatly remould and infring to bodies, and reflect unavoidable tribulations and oppression of the black race in seeking self identity. This novel fully disclosed racism sin and profoundly in-terrogated human nature.
