Portrait of Miko, the short story of South Korean writer Kin Dongli,is rooted in Korean folk, focusing on digging the Korean unique national style, showing the conflict between traditional Korean shaman culture and western Christian culture, and displaying different understandings on the relationship between god and human and human salvation accompanied by the conflict. Because of the discrepancy between the Polytheistic worship in South Korean culture and the Monolatry in Christian culture, two different ways of redemption are presented in Portrait of Miko: one is conversion and identity to nature; and the other is to god. However,as a Christian writer,Kin Dongli shows his identity to traditional Korean culture in the works, which enables people to think further the necessity and importance of the Oriental Cultural Renaissance.
