美国加州大学伯克利分校图书馆为用户提供科研支撑服务,其内容包括:科研资源存储与共享服务、面向科研项目申请的咨询服务、技术转让中介服务、科研成果出版平台、科研数据管理服务和面向本科生的科研支撑服务。其具有介入科研生命周期、注重为本科生提供服务、科研中介化服务等特点,并存在服务对象有局限性、针对科研人员的全方位培训较少的不足。我国高校图书馆应借鉴加州大学伯克利分校图书馆的经验,从以下方面提高科研支撑服务能力:提高科研服务意识、创新科研服务内容与服务方式、丰富科研经费来源渠道、注重培养学生的科研能力。

UC Berkeley Library provides research supporting service for the users. It mainly includes： the research resource storage and sharing services, consulting service for the research project application, technology transferring intermediary services, research achievements publishing platform, research data management service, and providing research service for undergraduate students. It has several features, such as it involves in the life cycle of scientific research, pays attention to provide service for the undergraduates,and it offers intermediary research service. While there are shortcomings in service object limitation, insufficient comprehensive training for researchers. Domestic university library should draw lessons from UC Berkeley Library from the following aspects： improving research service consciousness, innovating research service contents and methods, plenty research funding source channels, and focusing in cultivating students＇ research ability.
