《还乡》和《边城》分别是英国作家托马斯·哈代和中国作家沈从文的代表作。作家用细腻的笔触勾勒出光彩夺目的女性形象——尤苔莎和翠翠。她们是大自然的女儿,具有自然的外貌,自然的脾性,甚至连命运也和大自然的季节变换交相呼应,大自然的和谐美好铸就了女性美好的精神追求。文章从生态女性主义视角解读小说所反映的天人合一的境界,揭示作家渴望建立的人与自然和谐共生的理想社会模式。

The Return of the Native and The Border Town are the representative work of British writer ThomasHardy and Chinese writer Shen Congwen respectively. Both of them use exquisite depiction to draw a distinctiveimage. Hardy’ s is named Eustacia and shen Congwen’ s is named Cuicui. They are daughters of naturein terms of appearances and emotion, and they even have the similar fate with nature. Based on an analysis ofThe Return of the Native and The Border Town from the ecofeminist perspective, the present paper points outthat both Thomas Hardy and Shen Congwen hope to establish a society of harmonious coexistence between manand nature.
