The development of it also gets people＇ s attention in terms of power energy storage battery. The cathode material plays an important role in improving the performance of lithium ion batteries. The principle of lithium ion batteries and the structure and composition were introduced. The modification progress of new cathode material for lithium- ion battery and status of its electrochemical properties were reviewed. The development of cathode materials for lithium ion battery was also prospected.
