昆剧传习所在昆剧的发展史上具有举足轻重的地位,它在昆剧"日薄西山,气息奄奄"的特殊时期为其传承发展积存了力量。昆剧传习所在近现代昆剧发展史上具有里程碑式的意义,其后继团体"新乐府"、"仙霓社"与传习所一脉相承,对传统昆剧的保存及表演形式的丰富有突出贡献。昆剧传习所及新乐府、仙霓社在与《申报》的互动中发展壮大直至消亡,从《申报》看昆剧传习所的发展流变及其在当时产生的社会影响为昆剧研究提供了新的视角,同时也对当下昆剧的发展具有启示性意义。

Kunqu Opera Institute（ Chuanxi Suo） has an important position in the history of the development of kunqu opera. It accumulated strength for the inheritance and development of kunqu opera in the special period. Kunqu Opera Institute has the milestone significance in modem history of kunqu opera,followed by the group ＂New Music Troupe＂and＂Fairy Society＂. They made outstanding contributions for the preservation of traditional kunqu opera and enriching the forms of performance. Kunqu Opera Institute,New Music Troupe and Fairy Society developed and finally vanished while having an interaction with Shun Pao. Research on the evolution and development of Kunqu Opera Institute and the social impact at that time provides a new perspective for the study of kunqu opera,and has enlightening significance for the development of contemporary kunqu opera.
