札刺亦儿考略

On the Ethnic Origin and Etymology of Jalayir

历史文献中所遇到的札刺亦儿部是蒙古兴起以前以及在蒙古统治时期活跃于北方与西域的一支草原游牧部落。由于札剌亦儿族源的史料缺乏,而且有些历史记载相互矛盾,因此学者们的研究多趋于推理并各持己见。本文试图结合史籍记载和语言学方法,对札刺亦儿族源及其名称的词源进行探讨并提出作者新的看法。

According to the historical documents Jalayir（Zhalayier） is one of the strong steppe tribes not only during the Mongol reign but also before mongol rise on the northern steppe.Due to lack of historical documents on the ethnic origin of Jalayir and mutually contradictory records,reasoning of scholars have been varied.This paper attempts to combine historical records and linguistic analysis to discuss the ethnic origin of Jalayir and etymology of their ethinc name ＂Jalayir＂,and proposed some views on these matters.
