Teaching, Research, and Services: the Contributions of Daxia University to Audio-Visual Education in Modern China

在我国电化教育的发展进程中,大夏大学曾经发挥了重要的作用。有学者认为,大夏大学对我国电化教育发展的贡献侧重于电化教育的理论研究。本文主要运用文献法,从历史的角度对大夏大学与我国电化教育发展的互动进行考察分析。研究发现,大夏大学在教学、科研和社会服务三个方面都与电化教育进行过紧密的互动。在电化教育刚刚传入我国之际,大夏大学率先在我国设立了电化教育课程,培养电化教育高等专门人才,把电化教育纳入了高等教育的范畴,促进了电化教育学的学科建设。大夏大学开展的电化教育科学研究,将西方的电化教育经验和理论引进中国,并且结合中国的实际问题作出本土化创新。在服务社会的理念的引导下,大夏大学将电化教育作为推进社会教育的有力手段,积极与电影公司、教育电影协会、各电台等机关合作,拍摄教育影片,开展教育播音。大夏大学在电化教育的教学、科研和服务三个领域的活动相互之间也存在着良性的互动。

In the development of Audio-Visual Education in China, Daxia University had once played an important role. Some researchers believe that Daxia University＇s contributions to China＇s Audio-Visual Education were mainly in theoretical research. Based on literature review, this paper investigated and analyzed the contributions of Daxia University to the development of China＇s Audio-Visual Education from a historical perspective. Our review indicated that Daxia University had greatly contributed to the Audio- Visual Education in China in three aspects： teaching, research, and social services. When Audio-Visual Education was just introduced to China, Daxia University offered the first courses in Audio-Visual Education to foster high-level experts in the field. Daxia University incorporated Audio-Visual Education into the domain of higher education and promoted the development of Audio-Visual Education in China. The research that was conducted in Daxia University had introduced the experiences and theories of Audio-Visual Education in Western countries to China as well as made innovative contributions to the localization of the Western theories in China with the consideration of the practical issues in China. In social services, with the idea of serving the society, scholars in Daxia University had utilized Audio-Visual Education as a powerful means to advance social education. Scholars in Daxia University had actively collaborated with movie companies, associations of educational movies, radio stations, and other audio- visual organizations to produce educational movies and educational radio programs. The contributions of Daxia University in teaching, research, and social services had also interweaved with each other.
