摘要
由于对开本和四开本的版本差异,《李尔王》通行本中将剧本最后一段继位为王的台词给予埃德加,但通过细致的情节和内在脉络的分析,我们会发现这并不合常理。无论从个性特征还是王位继承的顺序上来讲,奥本尼都应该是新王。尤其重要的是,奥本尼本人的德性、他对李尔王古老的自然秩序的认可,更能够呈现《李尔王》中新旧两种自然观的道德含义。但是,奥本尼毕竟没有达到李尔王的层次,这或许暗示了《李尔王》中的政治衰颓不可逆转。
Because of the differences in the folio version and quarto version of King Lear,the prevailing edition of this play alludes that Edgar is the new king,but by careful analysis of the plots and internal context we will note some irrationality. In terms of the personal character or order of succession,Albany should be the new king. Especially,Albany's natural virtues,and his approval of King Lear's natural justice can more appropriately represent the moral significance suggested in divergence of two types of natural right,the ancient one and the new one. But after all,Albany does not reach the level of King Lear,and this may imply that political decay in King Lear is irreversible.
