As one branch of post-classical narratology, the possible world theory offers a new narrative explanation of fiction, which is instrumental in the discussion of an embedded text, offering meta-fiction a new model of deconstruction. In Pale Fire,by using narrative methods like metaphor and Unreliable Narration,Nabokov erects a bridge between 'other worlds'and 'this shore'. In light of the possible worlds theory, this paper divides the fictional worlds in Pale Fire, thus exploring in depth the embedded layers of the narrator and the corresponding relationship among the passible worlds, revealing the postmodernization of its narrative techniques.
