The new concept of "precision medicine" will heavily rely on the collection of large amount of data from the population as well as patients of specific diseases. Thanks to the fast development of various omics technologies, including genomics, proteomics, and metabolomics, it has become increasingly feasible to gather high-dimensional omics data from the same subjects.
