传教士《四书》译本考述

A Historical Survey of Versions of The Four Books by Missionaries

中国经典的西译肇始于耶稣会士，迄今已有400余年的历史。本文采用历史描写法，对1828年以前的耶稣会士和新教传教士的《四书》译本给予考述：或就其版本、译介情况加以考察和梳理；或简述其译本的成书过程、结构特点、翻译目的及影响，这不仅有助于对《四书》西译本有一个总体的把握，且对今后中国典籍外译、中国文化更好地走出去具有一定的借鉴意义。

The translation of Chinese classics to the Western world, which was initiated by Jesuit Missionaries, has a history of more than 400 years. This paper follows the method of description in the field of historiography to introduce and analyze the translated versions of The Four Books by Missionaries in terms of their edition, structure, object and their influence among other things. It intends to present a general view of the Western versions of The Four Books as well as offer useful hints to better translate Chinese Classics in order to disseminate more effectively the Chinese culture to the outside world.
