A Functional Linguistics-based Analysis of the English Versions of ShiJing——An Case Study of DongMenZhiShan

以韩礼德的功能语言学经验纯理功能为理论框架,对《诗经·郑风》中《东门之墠》一诗五个英文译本做初步探讨,旨在从语言功能角度对不同译本进行评析,揭示翻译过程,同时验证利用功能语言学的理论框架分析中国古典诗词英文译本的可行性。

This paper aims at analyzing five English versions of DongMenZhiShan by means of applying the approach of functional discourse analysis. The result analyzes the five English versions of the poem from functional point of view and shows that the systematic functional approach is available to the Chinese poem translation studies.This paper also attempts to broaden the horizon on ShiJin translation studies.
