Alice Walker in China: Translations and Introductions

艾丽斯·沃克是近年来国内非裔美国文学研究的重要对象。1983年,苏光在中国学术期刊上发表第一篇介绍沃克的文章。之后国内学者对她作品的译介逐渐增多,并经历了两次小高潮,所译介的作品包括诗歌、散文、短篇小说、长篇小说等文类。文章对1980年代以来国内沃克作品的译介情况作一梳理,指出译介中所取得的成绩和存在的一些问题。

As a representative of African American literature,Alice Walker has drawn much attention from readers and critics in China. Ever since the first introductory essay on Walker by Su Guang that appeared in 1983 in a Chinese journal,Reports on Foreign Literature,Walker's works including short stories,novels,essays and poems have become more and more familiar to Chinese readers,Bringing about two distinct waves of enthusiasm for the translation of her works into Chinese. Based on a careful survey and analysis of relevant literature,this paper discusses the strength and weakness in the translation of Walker's works( short stories and novels in particular) in China's Mainland.
