What should Be Rational Structure of Student Scale of Research Oriented Universities——Based on Comparative Analysis of Transnational Universities

学生规模和结构是影响院校培养质量、办学效益的重要因素。世界一流大学和一流大学中美国公立大学相关指标数值的分布特征显示:合理的规模结构为在校本科生介于18583人至26928人,在校研究生介于6994人至11513人,生师比介于16至18,博士学位授予数占研究生层次学位授予数的比例介于0.24至0.33。

This study analyzes student scales and structures in world-class universities and top American public universities. From the comparison, the study finds out the common features among these universities and suggests students scale and structure in China＇s research universities are that the number of undergraduates is between 18583 and 26928; the amount of graduate students is range from 6994 to 11513; the students-faculties ratio is from 16 to 18;the ratio of granted doctorate degree to the whole granted graduate degree is between 0.24 and 0.33.
