生态伦理思想早已在我国的传统家具文化中有了体现。中国传统家具发展历史悠长,拥有极高的艺术特征和独特文化特点的明式家具更是我国传统家具设计水平的巅峰。明朝时期,因园林的大量兴建,致使家具行业也随之带动发展。与东南亚诸国的贸易,大量的材料涌入中国,成为家具发展的物质基础。中国传统儒释道等哲学思想贯穿于明式家具中,着重强调了人与自然的和谐共存。在明式家具的选材、造型及文化底蕴上,用生态伦理的视角进行了审视。
