英国丰厚的文化遗产是英国历史的缩影和文化的精华,这些文化遗产在英国工业化、城市化、现代化的进程中得到充分的尊重和保护,并被加以合理利用使其成为国家文化创意产业、旅游业发展的原动力。目前,英国已经形成了包含志愿者、参与途径、资金来源和监督机制等较为全面的文化遗产公众参与保护体系,特别是公众参与已成为文化遗产保护的主要保护力量。

British cultural heritage is a core element of British history andculture. These heritages are not only well protected during the process of modernization and urbanization, but also fully utilized as tourist attraction or for creative industry. At present, British govemment already formed a heritage protection system which contains volunteer service, participation agreement, funding guarantee and supervision program. Public participation has become the main strategy of culttwal heritage Conservation.
