持坚守白 人砚合一——试论小说《即墨侯》中的人物塑造

Persistence and Unity: A brief discussion on the characters in the novel Ji Mo Hou

小说《即墨侯》以近百年来的肇庆端州历史为背景,塑造了众多不同历史时期的砚乡民众,有像"天下为公砚"般一心为公的革命者,有像"百鸟归巢砚"般技艺高超的砚师,也有如众多普通的无名砚般平凡却不普通的砚村人。小说表现了人物的各有持守,他们似端砚般"持坚守白,不磷不缁",努力追求生命的意义,从而使其具有人砚合一的艺术效果,充分展示出端砚题材小说的独特魅力。

The novel ji Mo Hou, based on Zhaoqing Duanzhou historical background for nearly one hundred years, created many characters in the village of inkstone of different historical periods, such as revolutionaries, highly-skilled inkstone carvers, and ordinary carvers. The novel shows that all the characters have their own be- liefs to keep, and they pursue the meaning of life like Duan inkstand of sticking to the rigidity and pure white. As a result, the novel has artistic effect of the inkstone and the Chinese unity, and fully demonstrated the unique charm of Duan inkstone.
