Zhong Daoyu is devoted to creating novels of Duan inkstone culture. The time and space of the history, the sentiments and transmission of culture, the changes and insistence of human natures have always been the themes of his novels. His novel, Ji Mo Hou, vividly represented the complex and exciting history of Zhaoqing, a famous historical and cultural city, in the changing political era with literary narration and from unique narration perspectives. It described the local customs and folk cultures of Zhaoqing from many perspectives, penetrated into the cultural psychology in the Xijiang River basin and added some fresh local flavors to the works through local dialects. What＇s more, Ji Mo Hou looked into human natures and depicted soul redemption and insistence on good human natures with＂inkstones＂.
