“中国英语”变体探究——基于社论语料库的句子层面特征分析

A Editorial Corpus-based Analysis of China English in on Sentence Level

以功能文体学为理论依据,自建的社论语料库数据为基础,通过对比以汉语为母语的中国高级英语学习者和以英语为母语的作者所撰写的社论,从句子角度探索是否存在"中国英语"变体。从句长、被动语态谓语、逻辑连接词这三方面的对比分析来看,两者之间存在显著性差异,存在"中国英语"这个变体,这可能是受中国的英语教学模式、汉语语法、社会文化差异等因素的影响。

According to the data drawn from the self-built corpus of editorials,this paper,based on functional stylistics,tries to explore the existence of China English variety from the perspective of sentence by comparing the editorials written by advanced English learners whose mother tongue is Chinese and those written by native speakers of English.The results of comparative analyses of sentence length,passive voice predicates,logical connectors in the two corpora show that there are significant differences between the editorials written by these two kinds of editors.Thus China English variety exists and the differences may be caused by English teaching models in China,Chinese grammar,socio-cultural factors,etc.
