Objective To investigate the contents of zinc( Zn) and copper( Cu) in blood among general population from Liangzhou City, and to analyze the characteristics of group distribution. Methods From 2010 to 2011,a stratified cluster sampling method was used to investigate 1 608 samples from Lianzhou city and its surrounding towns, and the blood and urine sample were collected. The inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry( ICP- MS) was applied to test the content of Zn and copper in blood sample, and the results were used to analyze the characteristics of contents and distributions of Zn and Cu among population of Lianzhou City from different ages, genders and regions groups. Results There is no statistical significance on the difference in the content of zinc in blood between the male and the female group( t = 1. 10,P = 0. 27); Compared with the levels of zinc in blood in different age groups, the differences are statistically significant( F = 16. 34,P〈0. 01). There is statistical significance on the difference in blood copper content between the male and the female group( t =- 5. 44,P〈0. 01); in comparison with blood copper content in different age groups, the differences are statistically significant( F = 18. 16,P〈0. 01).Conclusion The data of this investigation are true, reliable and representative, which obtains zinc and copper content in blood from general population, filling the basic data vacancies in Lianzhou, and providing scientific and reliable reference data for further scientific research.
