Singapore’s Good Governance——A Book Review on The Way of Singapore

《新加坡道路》一书以新加坡的现代化为主线,以政治发展为主要内容全面描述和分析了新加坡走出的一条成功的善治道路。新加坡的发展道路实际上和政治学家福山提出的'良治国家三要素'理论具有很大的相似性,它结合自身的实际先后构建起'强国家'的治理模式、现代法治国家和'体制内'民主化的模式,从而实现了良好的治理。虽然新加坡走出了一条适合自己的善治道路,但是在'后李光耀时代'新加坡面临着内外部许多挑战,可以说其正站在一个'十字路口',何去何从值得探讨。

The book The Way of Singapore takes Singapore’s modernization as the main line and comprehensively describes and analyzes a successful road to good governance in Singapore with political development as the main content. Singapore’s development path is actually very similar to the ' three elements of good governance' theory put forward by political scientist Fukuyama. It combines its own actual sequence to build a ' strong state' governance model, a modern rule of law country and Democratization ' within the system', thus achieving good governance. Although Singapore has embarked on a road to good governance that suits itself, in the ' post-Lee Kuan Yew era', Singapore faces many challenges both inside and outside. It can be said that it is standing at a ' crossroads', where to go is worth exploring.
