摘要
加拿大作家艾丽丝·门罗在其短篇小说集《逃离》中以细腻的笔法和片段式书写,讲述了生活在边缘的小镇女性的种种逃离。她们要么逃离家庭,要么逃离婚姻和两性关系,要么逃离越来越不令人满意的自我。然而逃离的结果要么是毁灭,要么是失望。开篇小说《逃离》中的女主人公卡拉,急欲逃离却又畏惧充满未知的未来,在逃离的途中选择回归,这种欲逃无路更让人悲哀。门罗以其对人生的深刻体验,细致入微地捕捉到人生中一个个可能逃离的偶然瞬间,凸显了命运的无常,给人启示,促人深思。
Through minute and fragmentary writing,Munro depicts different kinds of runaways of women in the short story collection Runaway. These women are living at little towns in a marginal state.What they want to run away from is family,marriage and the relationship with men,and also the increasingly dissatisfying self. However,the results of their efforts to run away are nothing but destruction or disappointment. As Carla in the short story Runaway,she eagerly hopes to run way but is afraid of the unknown future. Therefore,during the process of running away,she chooses to return. The reality of nowhere to run away reveals greater sadness. Munro weaves her deep understanding of life into her stories.By capturing the moments of life with possibilities to run away,Munro reveals the changeable nature of destiny,which gives us enlightenment and leaves us to think.
