The Globalization Action of the University of Hong Kong

香港大学全球化的战略目标是"跻立国际优等学府之首列"。为了达成这个目标,学校制订了一系列详密的推进计划。在机构方面,特设"国际学生事务处"以促进学生人口的多样化,同时建有"全球化及文化研究中心""HKU-UBC李国贤堂"国际学生宿舍及文化中心以服务这一目的。在经费方面,教资会补助拨款指定补助金专设"学生人口国际化"一项,且"国际化与学生交换活动"的支出占比呈大幅增长态势,彰显出香港政府对大学国际化的重视,也显示出香港大学全球化行动的步伐和力度。在项目方面,成立"香港大学世界联系网",与全球多所院校及科研机构开展学生交换计划和教研合作,并给出入境学生提供多种留学选择。经过多年的经营,香港大学的合作伙伴遍及全球,已走在世界顶级大学行列。但香港大学在学生人口多样化方面的努力仍然差强人意,国际排名稳中有降。在日趋激烈的世界一流大学竞争中,香港大学正面临严峻挑战。

The strategic goal of the globalization of the University of Hong Kong is to become one of the best international universities. To achieve the aim,it has worked out a series of detailed plans. In terms of structure,the 'International Students' Affair Agency'is established to promote the diversity of students,also the 'Research Center of Globalization and Culture',and 'International Students' Dormitory and Culture Center of Simon K. Y. Lee Hall'are built to serve for the purpose. In terms of the funds,the appointed funds of university grant committee establish the item 'Internationalization of Students' Population',and the expense for the 'Internationalization and Exchange of Students Activities'is increasing,showing the Hong Kong government's great attention to the internalization of universities,and the pace and degree for the internalization of the University of Hong Kong in recent years. In terms of the project,the'World Connecting Network of Hong Kong University'is established,conducting the students exchange and cooperation of teaching and research with a lot of universities and research institutes in the world,leaving multiple choices for the entry-exit students. After many years' management,the University of Hong Kong has many cooperating partners in the world,and has become one of best universities in the world. However,there are still a lot of efforts to do in the diversity of students' population,stable with a slight decline in the international university ranking system. In the gradual fierce competition for the worldly best universities,there are severe challenges faced by the University of Hong Kong.
