The paper describes the basic structural forms of the ancient buildings in China,illustrates the roles of the components in the buildings including the abutment,room styles,and roof in the architectural buildings,structural stress and grade classification,and introduces the application of the mortise and tenon structure in wood buildings with the Wood Pagoda in Yingxian as the example.
