基于语料库检索的《警察与赞美诗》的叙事视角

The Narrative Perspective of The Cop and the Anthem by Corpus Retrieval

叙述者与人物之间呈现不同的空间联系,而人物在这种联系和故事发展中发挥内因的作用,因此,从叙述者和人物入手进行视角分析归根结底是从人物入手分析叙事视角。运用语料库检索工具W o r d S m ith 5.0针对美国著名短篇巨匠欧·亨利的短篇小说《警察与赞美诗》文本,从主人公搜皮与叙事视角、执法官与叙事视角以及次要人物与叙事视角等三个方面对该短篇小说的叙事视角进行检索分析。《警察与赞美诗》的叙事视角是以主人公搜皮的固定内聚焦视角为主导,外部聚焦渗入内部聚焦,双重内聚焦偶尔出现,并辅之以非叙事性话语。

There are different spatial associations between the narrator and the characters in a story, and in such the associations and the development of the story, the characters play an internal-caused role. Thus, the narrative perspective based on narrators and characters can be finally analyzed from characters. The corpus retrieval tool Word Smith 5.0 is utilized into the textual analysis of the short story The Cop and the Anthem written by the famous American writer O. Henry. The analysis by the corpus retrieval is made from the following three as-pects:the protagonist Soapy and the narrative perspective, the lawmen and the narrative perspective, and the minor characters and the nar-rative perspective. The narrative point of view of The Cop and the Anthem, on the basis of corpus concordance, can be concluded as the variation of many perspectives:the leading and controlling perspective being single internal focus from the protagonist Soapy assisted by the non-narrative discourse, and the others being the infiltration of external focus and the sporadic appearance of double internal focus.
