In recent years, some tombs of the Ming Dynasty were excavated within the range of the Yinxu Site. Among these tombs, the M155 excavated in 2009 at the Wangyukou Locus South is a rectangular brick-chamber tomb with a ramp passage, the occupants of which were the couple of Zhu Houjuan, the Prince Duanxi of Ruyuan Commandery of the Ming Dynasty. This tomb had been looted before the excavation, but it still yielded ceramics, funeral objects made of lead and tin, and stone epitaph. The M33 and M34 excavated at Yubei Cotton Textile Mill were earthen pit tombs with ramp passages, both of which were that of the members of the clan of Zhang Shilong (1475-1525), the deputy commandant of the Hanzhong Prefecture of the Ming Dynasty; these two tombs were well preserved and yielded three stone epitaphs, the texts of which clearly recorded the lives and careers of the tomb occupants. The discoveries of these three tombs of the Ming Dynasty provided important physical and textual data for the researches on the burial regulations and customs of the regional princes and officials of the Ming Dynasty in Anyang area and the history of their genealogies.
