广东博罗横岭山墓地年代问题探讨

The Henglingshan Cemetery is one of the most important cultural remains of the pre-Qin period in Guangdong. The excavation report dated this cemetery as ＂from the transitional period of the Shang and Zhou Dynasties to the Spring-and-Autumn Period＂ , and the kui-dragon design pottery remains, which were the most important, were dated as ＂from the mid to the late Western Zhou Dynasty to the Spring-and-Autumn Period＂ . However, this dating conclusion is insufficiently reliable. The comparison with burials of the same types in the nearby areas and the typological analyses of the bronzes unearthed from them all showed that the date of the kui-dragon design pottery remains would be from the late Spring-and-Autumn to the early Warring-States Periods. The dates of the bronzes unearthed from the burials of Hulinshan Site in Zhangzhou and Zhaishan Site at Daying in Nan＇ an, which all belonged to Fubin Culture, were not as early as the late Shang Dynasty; therefore, the burials of the early phase of Henglingshan Cemetery could only be dated as the early to the mid Spring-and- Autumn Period, although they contained many elements of Fubin Culture.
