Integration of Historical Background and Modern Function——Example of the Yajule Changledu Project of Mendong Street Reconstruction

保护历史街区的历史风貌、传统肌理及空间格局,努力提升空间环境品质,重塑传统公共活力空间,门东雅居乐长乐渡项目设计以满足现代生活需要,恢复地段历史的空间格局及街巷的传统尺度,延续古城的传统风貌为主要工作目标。力求达到历史环境与现代功能的融合发展。

To preserve the historical scene and flavor from the old streets with traditional structure and layout,while enhancing the spatial amenity to meet modern taste, and to resurrect the traditional vitality of the public space are key ideas in designing the Yajule Changledu project for the traditional Mendong street block,Nanjing. Special aims in the design were on modern utilities, historical real street and by street layout,inheritance of the traditional style of the ancient city. Thus, the project can be characterized by the integration of traditional flavor and modern function.
