Transitivity of Intransive Verbs in Chinese EFL Learners' English

摘要本研究基于"中国学生英语口笔语语料库",考察中国学生英语中不及物动词的及物化现象。结果表明,中国学生口语和书面语中英语不及物动词的及物化使用存在显著性差异。英语不及物动词的及物化现象不仅仅表现为非宾格动词的过度被动,还表现为非宾格动词带宾语、非作格动词用于被动语态以及非作格动词带宾语。不及物动词的句法特性对其及物化程度没有显著影响,语义显著影响口语中非宾格动词的及物化。英汉语不及物动词论元结构的差异是导致其及物化的主要原因,研究结果不支持"接口假说"。 The present study aims to investigate the transitivity of intransive verbs in Chinese EFL learners' English based on Spoken and Written English Corpus of Chinese Learners. The results showthat the transitivity of intransive verbs is significantly different in Spoken and Written English. Chinese learners not only passivize unaccusative verbs as well as unergative verbs,but also overgeneralize object-structure of unaccusative and unergative verbs. Syntactic properties have no significant effect on the transitivity of intransive verbs and semantic properties have a significant effect on the transitivity of unaccusative verbs in Spoken English. The differences of argumentstructure of intransive verbs in Chinese and English may be the main cause of the transitivity.The results do not support 'Interface Hypothesis'.
