Research on the Evaluation of Subject Development Based on ESI and InCites

基于汤森路透公司的ESI和Incites数据库,分析电子科技大学各学科的特征,探讨学科发展中的优势与不足,并提出采用能够表征学科论文质量的学科规范化的引文影响力、期刊规范化的引文影响力、相对于全球平均水平的影响力以及平均百分位四个指标对学科发展进行综合评价。最后预测后续最有可能进入ESI前1%的学科及应采取的学科发展策略,为学科发展提供准确的方向和路径。

Based on the databases of ESI and Incites developed by Thomson Reuters Company, this paper analyzes the characteristics of the subjects of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, and discusses the advantages and disadvantages in the subject development. Most importantly, this paper proposes the use of four indicators ： category normalized citation impact, journal normalized citation impact, impact relative to world average and the average percentile to evaluate the subject development. Finally, this paper predicts the subjects that are most likely to enter the ESI＇ s top 1% subjects and the strategies of subject development which should be taken, and provides the exact direction and path for subject development.
