李商隐的诗歌和四六文均取得很高成就 ,其重要标志之一是风格多样。诗歌方面 ,“自开生面 ,兼擅临摹” ,有《锦瑟》那样风格表现为典丽精工的 ,有《落花》那样绚中有素的 ,有学汉魏、学六朝、学杜、学韩、学李贺而能达到很高境界的 ,甚至还有些开宋派的作品。义山的四六文与诗消息相通 ,其总体特征是精丽和富有情韵 ,而围绕精丽和情韵 。

Li Shangyin has achieved great success in poetry and Si Liu Prose, one of which is the diversity of it. In poetry he had his original ideas and borrowed others' as well. Jing Se is great and grand while Fallen Flowers is gorgeous minged with plainess. He had many great works learning from that of Han and Wei Dynasty, Six Kingdons period, Du pu, Han yu and Li He and also he had some works of Song style. His Si Liu Prose, similar with his poems, are exquisite and charming. The exquisiteness and lingering charm shows the diversity of his proses.
