摘要 Cartogram是一种以面积变形或距离变形的方式表达空间数据属性信息的地图。与传统地图相比,Cartogram能够对用户造成较强的视觉侵扰,表达力强。首先,综述了Cartogram的理论体系和各子类Cartogram的研究现状,并附以真实的案例帮助读者区分各类Cartogram的不同;其次,展望了Cartogram的未来研究趋势,认为相关研究将不再致力于减小几何形变,而Cartogram本身也将逐渐脱离其地图本质,应用将更加广泛。 A cartogram is a map depicting the attributes of spatial data by using a deformed area or deformed distance. Compared with geographical maps,cartograms create a strong visual impact on readers. This paper reviews the literature on cartograms,and illustrates different categories of cartograms; the prospective study of cartograms is also discussed. The authors think that prospective research will not focus on reducing deformations,and the form of cartograms will not be limited to maps. In the future,cartograms will find more applications in wide- ranging fields.
